Reviews of My 3 Favorite Seiko Mens Watches
Now that you might have finished reading, let me do a quick summary for you about these 3 little guys as I know there might be some things that you’re not aware of at first time. Hope I can help you at making the best decision possible. So, read my below 3 short Seiko watch reviews and let me know what is your best bet.
Seiko Men’s SGG709 Watch
One thing that I really like about this timepiece is its minimalist and elegant design with silver tone case, bracelet, and a midnight blue dial. They all mix up well in color contrast thus making this watch a real attention-catcher!
The watch is powered by the world famous Japanese Quartz movement. And that means when it comes to timekeeping, you can rest assured as the Quartz engine is second to none in time accuracy in case of commercial watches.
Also, you won’t have to pay much attention to all the maintenance tasks as well since this kind of movement runs with a battery. And it’s rare for all watch owners of this kind to change the battery in a year.
The next thing that I want you to pay attention to is the heat treated mineral crystal, or in Seiko’s term – the Hardlex crystal. This type of mineral is very popular in watch making. It’s tough enough to protect the inner parts of this wristwatch from potential scratches everyday. And it also provides you with a clear look over the dial whenever you want to see time as well.
The titanium case, bracelet, and bezel also add another layer of protection here that can shield this timepiece from shock, scratches, and all kinds of damages. They also make the watch look much better especially under the sun.
With the fold over clasp in place, you will find it super easy to wear this timepiece on or put it off. And with a few more useful features such as a small day/date window at 3.00 o’clock position, and luminous watch hands, you can count on this watch to assist you in your daily activities.
The watch is water resistant at 165 ft or 50 m, so it’s not suitable for any water-related sports. Just to warn you that.
Seiko Men’s SNK809 Strap Watch
This wristwatch, unlike the SGG709 we talked above, has a very sleek and sporty design with black canvas strap and silver tone stainless steel case. I don’t know about you, but the color combination of black and white is always my favorite! So, if you’re like me, you will like this one.
To start with, once again we will talk about the watch movement first since it’s the heart of the machine here. And with the powerful Automatic movement embedded inside, this watch can assure you one of the best methods of timekeeping.
The automatic movement works based on the movements of your arm and wrist. That means all you have to do is to wear your watch often and it will power itself easily. No need for oiling, winding, or even battery changing. And in terms of time accuracy, this movement is only second to the Quartz. But the difference is so small that you won’t even notice it!
And much like the SGG709, this wristwatch has for itself a hardened mineral dial window to protect itself from taking scratches unexpectedly. The stainless steel case and bezel also act the same way in safeguarding the watch from potential harms.
Talking about other features, although the buckle clasp is not as easy to implement as the fold over clasp, but I still find it easy enough to get used to. The watch also has for you luminous hands with a sweeping second hand, a small day/date window that can be formatted into English or Spanish, and hour/minute display on the dial.
This little guy can resist water pressure no more than 99 ft or 30 m, so, don’t drop it into water or wear it while swimming or it will “blackout”.
Seiko Men’s SKA366 Watch
And this one is a special one. If there is one famous signature watch series from Seiko that is known to the whole world, it must be the Kinetic series. The Kinetic movement combines the accuracy of Quartz and the self-powered ability of Automatic to create a unique kind of movement that is accurate and maintenance-free at the same time!
And this SKA366 has that very movement as the heart of the system thus making it very dependable in terms of timekeeping and very “independent” in terms of maintenance. You just have to wear it often to keep it working.
Another great feature about this timepiece that I really like is the color combination of gold and black. The gold toned bezel, hands, and indices combine with the black steel bracelet really make this watch has a noble feel and look. If you wear it on your wrist, I’m sure people around will want to ask you about it.
That’s about the design. Now, in terms of protection, this wristwatch has for you the same level of protection like the SNK809 with Hardlex (or mineral) crystal and stainless steel case, bracelet, and bezel. Rest assured that your investment will never get scratches that easy!
The fold over clasp also make it very easy to put this watch on your wrist. And with the help of a small date window at 4.00 o’clock position, glancing time will be easy to you.
And finally, unlike the above 2 products, this timepiece can resist water pressure up to 330 ft or 100 m thus making it ideal for some water sports if you like.
