Movement

Quartz movement is an extremely reliable timekeeper; it is also cost effective for both the manufacturer and the consumer.

Quartz movement is powered by a battery. It is called quartz movement because the battery works in combination with a quartz crystal. The battery passes an electric current through the crystal to keep it oscillating.

This vibrating crystal drives a step motor that moves the watch hands at a constant rate to keep time accurately. Quartz movement is approximately accurate to within 0.5-2 seconds per day.

Dial

Black dial with black hands and stick hour markers sets the uniformity and conveys a very bold statement. Fixed black titanium carbide-coated bezel with tachymeter is the “wow” factor.

Only one numeral is kept which is the12 o’clock. Minute markers around the outer rim are prominent and date display appears at the 4 o’clock position. Three chronograph sub-dials display 60 second, 30 minute and 1/10th of a second. This also has scratch resistant sapphire crystal, screw down crown and solid case back.

Water resistant at 200 meters / 660 feet is a big plus point. As the overall feel is sporty, so an additional feature is added by stopwatch function.

Band

When Tag Heuer does things, then they are different in their own way. Despite of keeping a normal looking rubber strap, the whole strap has nice lines and “tag heuer” branding which is embossed as well.

This rubber strap has no hassles of high maintenance. This won’t fade like normal fabric and this will have no problem with your sweat the way leather straps have at times. It also has deployment clasp with push button release.

Conclusion

Black titanium carbide-coated stainless steel case with a black rubber strap sets the finest tone for this watch. These two things decide the overall look of the watch and in this particular piece; some extra efforts have also been put in all the elements. The bezel is not plain jane and the band is also given some detailing. Even the least visible seconds hand has also been given the red color at the tip. This is indeed a black beauty!
