Skagen 809XLTTM Review
Seriously this grey is something that you will adore. This is an expertly crafted watch with a titanium case housing a genuine carbon fiber dial in dark grey color. Contemporary meets functional in this edgy design with a multifunction movement, luminous hands and hour markers.
“Movement” in style
We all know that when two best things come together then a magic happens. You can witness the magic with auto-quartz movement.
Auto-quartz uses a rotor from an automatic watch to power a quartz capacitor which then powers the movement. No battery changes are required in this type of quartz movements and it generally offers longer life as well. This movement is popularly known as Japanese movement.
Do or “Dial”
A perfect carbon fiber dial in grey color accentuates the whole look of this timepiece.
Using carbon fiber does make this Skagen mens watch slightly less heavy. Hour markers and hands are luminous. So be ready to shine as well! But something that immediately catches eye balls is orange colored second hand. Even tips of chronograph hands are also in orange tinge.
That reminds me of chronographs! There are three in this watch, one of which marks the days for you. A round outlining with another shade of grey is made below the hour markings.
Titanium is used for dial case. Strength and toughness are perfect synonyms for Titanium. It defeats steel in terms of lightness (weight). Another area where titanium is excellent at is corrosion resistance.
Mineral crystal in the dial window is the next best thing. It’s a hardened glass that will resist some scratches although not nearly as durable as sapphire.
Mesh band in stainless steel material gives it an über chic look. This doesn’t add much to the weight of watch and at the same time looks first-class.
It comes with an easily adjustable fold-over clasp and has the appropriate length. Shiny finish could not have looked as classy as the matte finish. Same color of the band and case gives the watch a uniform look.
- Name: Skagen 809XLTTM
- Movement:Japanese movement
- Band: Stainless steel mesh band
- Special features: Water resistant at 100 feet
Sober but edgy at the same time! It’s a tough combination to get but this watch assures of so. Although be bit careful with the dial window as mineral is used which is not as hard as sapphire.
